Walk into the National Audio Video store, located in central Edmonton, and one of the
first things you'll notice is the friendly, family-like atmosphere that encourages
confidence in the product, the people and the entire customer relationship. You will also
notice the newly renovated store and showrooms housing state of the art audio/video
equipment. That is all the result of a lot of hard work and effort on the part
of John Walker, the owner and manager of the mid-to-high-end consumer electronics store.
John's ties to National Audio Video go all the way back to 1983, when the store was called
National Music. He approached George Nikel and subsequently found himself in his employ.
Over the next few years, John learned all about the buying and selling of consumer
electronics. The hands on and working knowledge of the products. In January 1997,
George sold National Music to John, thus becoming, "National Audio Video."
Although John admits that George taught him "everything I know," perhaps one of
the most important lessons he learned is to have fun at what you do. This attitude is
apparent in all aspects of the store, from the layout of the products to the open
friendliness of the staff. John has surrounded himself with a very talented
group of staff. He has 11 people in his employ.
Wade Church has been in the audio/video industry for 32 years'. His experience proves extremely useful when you want to put together your
'perfect' home theatre or multi-room system. His current favorite
pastime is training and spending time with 'Emmi', his new Golden
Retriever.
Henry Geier works in the store's in-house service department. A 19-year veteran with the
company, Henry goes out and troubleshoots when the need arises. He also does service calls
and custom installations. Henry's hobby farm keeps him busy after
hours, but according to him, he wouldn't have it any other way.
Ron Low is a nine year veteran with National, and he does our regular service installations
as well as custom installations. As far as we know, his only 'bad habit' is being to
particular and precise with his installations. In his spare time
he pitches a good game of slow pitch.
James Cameron and has an electrical background. His has turned his hobby
into a working knowledge of electronics, video, home theatre and stereo.
He has the ability to not
only sell the product but also to do custom and service installation.
When work is done for the day, he enjoys playing a good game of slow
pitch with his buddies.
Lorne Rochon is extremely well qualified to help you fulfill
your home theatre and multi-room needs. He has been a home
theatre enthusiast for the past 20 years, as well as being a semi
professional musician for 40 years. Tim Lozinski
has 25+ years' with the audio/video business. His avid passion though is audio.
And in his circle he is known as the 'audio godd!'. His favorite
after hours pastime is a good game of snooker.
Jeff Butler has been in the audio/video business for 20+ years'.
With all his knowledge and years experience, he is 'most qualified' to
answer and help with all your audio/video needs. After hours you
can
find Jeff out on ball diamond, another slow pitch enthusiast, limping around the field.
Judy Walker is the Controller at National Audio Video. Her
background as an Accountant is utilized to
complete year end accounting procedures. Her full time job at
Heartland Alliance only lets her see National a couple times a month.
Betty Ann Pfeil is the glue that keeps things together at National
Audio Video. As Office Manager, the day to day challenges of working with nine men
have definitely kept her hopping and on her toes.
Diane Ediger works, part time, in the Accounting Department at
National. Her quirky attitude, and of course her home-made baking
(every Tuesday) helps keep everything in order at National. The National Audio Video staff's expertise is supplemented through product sessions put on by supplier
representatives, supplier education trips and trade shows. John highly encourages his
staff to seek out information wherever they can.
The customer base for National Audio Video is primarily the Edmonton area but there are
customers who come from Southern as well as Northern Alberta, Saskatchewan and
British Columbia. A toll-free number helps these customers stay in contact with the
store, which is located in the mainly residential neighborhood of Stony Plain Road and
142nd Street. The location offers ample on-site parking in back of the store.
National Audio Video staff, invite you to come and visit the showrooms and check
out the many product lines being carried there.
